MARGE is participating to a Pre-Feasibility Study for Electrification and Clean Cooking for Rural Schools in Rwanda. The project takes place within the Technical Assistance Facility for the “Sustainable Energy for All” (SE4ALL) initiative, funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by Stantec. Its global objective is to contribute to improve the standard of education and basic energy services by providing reliable electricity and environmentally sustainable cooking for public schools in Rwanda while reducing carbon emissions and unsustainable biomass consumption.
MARGE will continue being part of the RECP Finance Catalyst programme as sub-contractor of Partners for Innovation that won the second phase of the programme, covering the period July 2019 – September 2021. Financed by GIZ, this programme supports RE project developers in sub-Saharan Africa with free advisory services for the development of their projects towards financial close.
For the next two years, MARGE will provide a technical support to the solar energy program of Garamba National Park. The mission consists in a technical support for the implementation of a solar energy program in the peripheral areas of Garamba National Park in northeastern DRC as part of the project "Conservation of Natural Resources and Sustainable Development of protected Areas of Garamba" funded by the European Union and implemented by the African Parks company that manages the park.
MARGE supports ECA to carry out a Market Assessment for Distributed Generation in the Commercial and Industrial Sectors in Southern Africa. This assessment is funded by IFC and focus on 6 countries : Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. MARGE is specifically in charge of the assessment in Malawi.
