    Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme – RECP Finance Catalyst Programme

    The RECP Finance Catalyst project supports RE project developers in sub-Saharan Africa to reach financial close. The project seeks projects at various stages of development and with different business models – on-grid or off-grid – ranging from projects with a PPA to companies providing (solar) home systems. Tailored advisory services are offered until financing is obtained. This means working closely with the project developer, explaining the project to and addressing specific concerns of financiers. The program aims to link projects to financiers around the globe, so that more of Africa gains access to energy.


    Support to Africa-EU Private Sector Cooperation through the mobilisation stakeholders from the small hydropower sector

    This contract takes place within the Project "Energy Policy in Development Cooperation" between EREF and GIZ. The objective is to contribute to increase the share of small hydropower technologies in Africa by supporting the realization of a maximum of four information and match-making events in sub-Saharan Africa.


    Energy sector study in DRC

    2015 - 2016 / KfW

    The mission consists in studying the energy market and proposing investments opportunities for the German Bank, KfW. The main objectives are as following : 1) make an inventory of the renewable energy sector in the DRC 2) describe the Institutional and legal framework of the sector 3) analyze gaps, challenges and potential of the sector 4) inform of the Congolese government strategies and goals by 2030 5) make recommendations to the KFW on investment opportunities.


    Market segments for solar business

    This activity is part of the Renewable Energy (RE) Project Development Programme - Sub-Saharan Africa (PDP SSA) administrated by GIZ. This programme aims to develop Sub-Saharan Africa’s renewable energy markets by promoting German-Sub-Saharan business partnerships. MARGE must provide a market analysis showing market opportunities in Madagascar in the field of PV energy. The report must provide a comprehensive overview of the solar sector, including the regulatory framework for RE, relevant actors in the field, as well as recommendations on the profitability of the surveilled segments.


    Village Grid Consultancy for Energising Development (EnDev) Rwanda

    EnDev Rwanda is promoting small-scale village grids in rural Rwanda, providing a financial incentive to companies that aim to invest into small-scale power generation and distribution based on renewable energy technologies (mainly hydropower and to a limited extend PV, other technologies are possible). For this assignment, MARGE provided a technical support to ensure that the proposed projects were technically sound, cost efficient, safe for employees and customers, and protect the local environment.
