MARGE is participating in the Technical Assistance team responsible for the implementation of the regional program "ENERGIES - Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme in Indian Ocean Commission Member States".
MARGE and PROMAN are members of the consortium led by PwC South Africa.


The program aims at creating conditions for an increased access to modern and sustainable energy services at acceptable cost based on indigenous and renewable energy sources. The development and adoption of a renewable energy strategies, at a regional and at national levels, focused on human resources development and institutional building will be supported. The improvement of the regulatory and business environment for RE based grid-connections will be encouraged. The definition of suitable energy efficiency standards and labels for buildings and household appliances will be facilitated. Finally, ER projects with demonstration effect will be financed through a competitive call of proposals to be launched in 2015. The program covers the Indian Ocean Commission Member States: Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles and Reunion Island (with a specific funding). The project started in October 2014 and will run until June 2017.


MARGE associate expert, Josephine ARPAILLANGE, is one of the three key experts in the Program as Specialist on Renewable Energy & Call for proposals procedure. Several short-term technical energy specialists associated with MARGE are likely to be involved as well."
