MARGE has just won a new project for the African Development Bank in Madagascar. It involves a diagnostic study of the mini-grid sector. The aim is to help ADER (Agence de Développement de l'Electrification Rurale - Rural Electrification Development Agency) in its mission to promote rural electrification in the country, and more specifically the development of mini-grids.
The main objective of the assignment is to carry out a country diagnosis with a view to identifying areas of intervention to support the development of a mini grid programme. More specifically, the aim is to: 1) clarify the precise nature of the future TA support to be provided and 2) quantify the amount of financial support that is being requested by ADER in the immediate term to support the pipeline of existing projects, and prepare a funding package that could be financed by the SEFA Fund with other donor partners.
