MARGE regularly carries out studies for Enabel in Africa, in particular support to the elaboration of Special Conditions of Contract (SCC) for the supply of solar energy to laboratories or health centers. Recently, two similar studies have been completed in the DRC. The first one targeted hospital laboratories supported by the THA+ project. The second one targeted 4 laboratories/research centers around Lake Tanganyika (Latawama project). For this last study, Enabel also wanted to study the possibility of using salt water batteries, an innovative storage technology that is very advantageous from an environmental point of view, but still very expensive to implement.
