SolarAid is an international charity founded in 2006 to combat poverty and climate change. Through its social enterprise, SunnyMoney, SolarAid provides access to solar lamps in African countries such as Malawi and Zambia. Eager to deploy its solutions in Madagascar, the company commissioned MARGE to carry out a market study of the country's off-grid electricity sector. The main objective of the study was to identify key success factors, as well as obstacles, to extending access to off-grid renewable energy for the poorest households, communities, schools and health centres.
