The Mini-Grid Partnership (MGP) is a consortium of over 300 mini-grid stakeholders that strives to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy mini-grids by enhancing and complementing each other's work through collaboration and coordination. The aim of the MGP is to reduce barriers in the mini-grid sector and thereby make the sector more mature and prosperous. However, the sector still faces challenges and barriers in many countries, including policy and regulatory issues, lack of proven business models, and lack of affordable long-term financing.
MARGE conducted a rapid review of the MGP on behalf of SE4ALL to better understand what added value this organisation brings to the mini-grid sector and what gaps could be addressed to improve its work. A report was delivered in November to present the key findings of the evaluation and recommendations.
