In association with Aiguasol and Azimut360, MARGE is supporting UNDP in developing a programme to Accelerate Rural Electrification in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The programme aims at supporting mini-grid developers and should consist of a technical assistance facility and a funding facility. The assignment is divided into two main phases. A first phase should consist in assessing the context and a second in the conceptualization of the programme that should have as objective to support the installation of 30MW of decentralized renewable energy capacity by 2029. After outlining the key ideas of the programme and presenting them at a workshop to key stakeholders in Kinshasa, the consortium will then support UNDP in the preparation of a final project document.
