MARGE has just delivered to Enabel a strategic orientation note containing practical recommendations and action plans for the integrated REDD PIREDD KOrLom programme, covering the Provinces of Kasai Oriental and Lomami in DRC. The study conducted by MARGE aimed, among other things, to establish a diagnosis of the production, supply and consumption systems of wood energy in rural and urban areas, to identify the processes of change that can be expected for the sector and the technical intervention levers necessary for this change, and to define actions that will reduce the pressure on the wood energy markets and its effects on the environment. The recommendations described in the report are intended to locate and quantify the PIREDD KOrLom intervention in the energy sector.
