For this project, a first phase was used to define the needs and make a diagnosis. The activities were the following: Analysis of project documents and call for ideas, Mapping of products and production systems with (solar) power, Technical and financial analysis of IGAs, preliminary market study. The last phase of MARGE's support consists in accompanying the construction and commissioning of the various energy infrastructures.

This assignment aims to provide to the EU delegation with a stocktaking of initiatives of the government and other partners in the isolated grids’ sector, an analysis of the policy and regulatory framework and recommendations for a possible intervention on competitive tenders.

The study focuses on institutional aspects of the management of solar electrification installations for buildings, roads, targeted public areas and the University of Kinshasa site, with the objective of identifying institutional mechanisms allowing for these systems to be properly operated and maintained for a duration of 20 years.

In association with AIDES Madagascar, MARGE is deploying the following activities to help ADER accelerating rural electrification: 1) An analysis of the state of the mini-grid market in Madagascar 2) A review of the policy environment and regulatory framework for green mini-grids 3) A project development and procurement procedure 4) the design of a financing project for SEFA.

The CB MIREME/ARENE programme is a bilateral collaboration between the Governments of Mozambique and Belgium on a “Capacity Development of MIREME (Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy) and ARENE (Autoridade Reguladora de Energia)“. It aims to strengthen the partners’ institutional, organisational and staff capacity.

In association with Greenplug Engineering, MARGE is to establish a Master Plan for the development of Lubumbashi's electricity grid, enabling the electrification of the city by 2040 and based on a GIS and an electricity network software.

MARGE had to advice and support Enabel team in the development of its new portfolio of projects for Mozambique (for the period 2023-2027), more specifically in the following areas: innovative business models for mini grids and e-waste/solar waste/battery waste.

The purpose of the mission is to support Enabel in carrying out a study for the installation of a reliable, mostly renewable electricity production facility (solar energy, biomethanisation, biomass, biogas) to supply an Agropole (agro-industrial development centre) located in the region of Fatick, in Senegal.
